Happy Monday!
It's festival season and with Lollapalooza coming up in a few weeks, Kohls gave me another challenge. They asked me to create three completely different looks for each day of Lollapalooza. Now I've never even been to a music festival before, but I was totally up for the challenge! I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised at the pieces that I found. I had a vision of the outfits that I was hoping to create and I was pretty much able to do that, while still staying true to my style.
A few things come to mind when I think of being outside at a music festival. Comfort is definitely the first thing, so of course that means no heels! I am such a heels girl all the way, but it was actually a lot of fun coming up with these outfits and having to incorporate flats instead.

Shorts: Elle (here) / Tank: Apt 9 (here) / Vest: Simply Vera (here) / Sandals: Apt 9 (here) -via Kohls
For the first look, I wanted to go for something a little bit edgy and boho. As soon as I found these tribal print shorts, the rest of the outfit just came together. I wanted a bold pop of color, so this tank was perfect. I thought of pairing a kimono on top and luckily I came across this vest. It's such a fun layering piece for summer. When looking for shoes, I was hoping for some type of gladiator sandal so these worked out really well! I already had the hat and fringe bag at home, so the first outfit was complete. I added a few of my accessories and a bold lip to finish it all off.
I guess you can say this is my flower child outfit. I wanted something cute & girly. I found this simple top with a collar imprint that paired perfectly with this floral skirt. I didn't want this outfit to appear too dressy, so I thought a cross body bag would be a great way to add a sporty touch. I love that I found one to make the outfit pop out a bit more. Then I found these simple white flip flops that were on sale for only $9.99 and they are seriously so comfortable! I wanted to do something different with my hair that could compliment this outfit, so I figured that milkmaid braids would be the best idea. It's an easy hairstyle for being outside at a festival.
For my last look, I wanted something simple and laid back, but still fun for a festival. When I found this navy embroidered crop top, I decided to edge it up with a pair of denim cut offs. I like that these shorts are not too short. Longer length cut offs are definitely on trend right now. After putting these two pieces together, I instantly thought of a big floppy hat and oversized sunglasses with a side braid. I was trying to find a pair of booties, but they didn't have my size. So I decided on these sandals because they have a low thick heel. Then I just accessorized with my daily stacked bangles and layered these necklaces.
