I put the florals away and reached for the pineapple!
Today's post includes two of my blogger loves: Nadia & Erika. It's been a really long time since I've done a blogger collab and they are always so much fun! As women, it seems as though there is this natural instinct for us to compete and tear each other down and there is no need for that. We all have our own light, so why not help each other continue to shine? The three of us have talked about doing this collab for months and I'm so happy that we were finally able to get together on this. Hope you enjoy the post!
We decided to focus on the pineapple trend that has taken over this summer season. We each picked out a different pineapple piece and styled it in our own way to showcase various ways to rock this trend. Since we all live fairly close to one another (Nadia & I are literally a block apart), we decided to get together for some "Sunday funday" in Hoboken and shoot our looks together, with my amazing "momatographer!" I love how all of our styles are completely different. Nadia styled an edgier look with her pineapple tank, distressed denim and strappy sandals. Erika did something a little more dressy with her pineapple shift dress and embellished clutch. Both great outfits for summer! [Make sure to check out their blogs: NACStyles & LolaBlueStyle for more details] And I went for something a little more casual chic. :)
Outfit Details
When I found these shorts, I thought that they were adorable. I instantly thought of wearing them with flat sandals since they're so casual, but I wanted to show how they could also be dressed up with some heels. I got really lucky by finding this green tank. I didn't think I would be able to find the exact color that I was looking for, but Target always comes through! The outfit was way too plain with just the tank and shorts, so adding this denim jacket brought a whole other dimension & feel to the look. It's just the best layering piece for this season. If you ever put together an outfit and it feels like something is still missing, try adding on a denim jacket. They act as a neutral and basically work with anything. For me, they are equivalent to the moto jackets that I wear in the fall. I wanted to make the outfit pop a little bit more, so I decided to use this bright yellow tote. I got it last summer, but it's one of those bags that I will continuously use through out the years, as long as it stays in good condition. Incorporating a bold colored bag, like this one, is another great way to make a simple look stand out.
I love that Nadia wore one big pineapple on top, Erika wore medium sized print all over, and I wore small print on the bottom. I'm suddenly craving pineapple! ;)
We are going to be doing an insta-giveaway next week where you can win some great beauty products & jewelry, so stay tuned for details! :) I really hope that you liked our take on the pineapple trend. This day was so much fun and I look forward to more. And a huge thank you to my mom for being so amazing!
Have a great day loves <3
