Happy Halloween!
I just wanted to do a quick post and share my costume this year: MALEFICENT! I literally waited till the very last minute (this morning) and spent the whole day making this. I swear I work way better under pressure. I watched a tutorial by Andrea from Fancy Made and it helped me so much. She seriously does the best DIY costumes! Unfortunately, I could not find some of the essential pieces to make this so I just had to improvise a little bit. She used the Mickey/Minnie Ears hat as the base but I could not find it in any costume store so I literally cut off the bottom half of an old graduation cap. Hey, whatever works right! lol Also, the biggest challenge for me was not having a mannequin head to build the head piece on. I'm still not sure how I was able to create this. It was probably the most challenging costume that I have ever made. It's not perfect, but I'm so happy with the end result. And as for the makeup, I just mixed some foundation with white face paint and used dark eyeshadow to contour my cheeks. I also doubled up on the lashes, did a smokey eye and red lip to match hers.
